About AFS

A small school with a big heart

For more than a decade, we've welcomed local and expatriate families into a warm community where children take their first confident steps in learning — now all the way to Grade 6.

Welcome to AFS

A joyful, high-quality start

Al Fajer Private School (AFS) is a non-profit, coeducational school dedicated to giving local and expatriate children a joyful, high-quality start to their education. Licensed by the Bahrain Ministry of Education, we offer a bilingual programme from Kindergarten to Grade 6, where children learn English and Arabic side by side, with early exposure to French.

Through this — and a rich mix of activities and field trips — our students gain an experience that is genuinely unique among schools in Bahrain, learning to cherish Bahraini culture while growing into respectful, open-minded global citizens.

Our story

More than a decade of serving Bahrain's families

Founded in 2013, Al Fajer Private School began with a simple belief: that the early years matter most, and that every child deserves a warm, ambitious start. We are proudly independent — not part of a chain — which lets us stay small, personal, and focused on each child.

Today we are home to around 350 students from many nationalities, learning together as one community. We've grown thoughtfully — extending to Grade 6 from 2026/27 — while keeping the close relationships and family feel that parents tell us they love.

Welcome to Al Fajer Private School.

For more than a decade, AFS has been a place where young children take their very first steps in learning — steps guided with patience, warmth, and high expectations. From KG1 through Grade 6, we give every child a confident foundation in English and Arabic, an early love of French, and the curiosity to explore the world with kindness.

We believe a great primary education is about far more than academics; it is about character. Our students learn loyalty and integrity, and are encouraged to be optimistic, creative and thoughtful — values we hold as dearly as reading, writing and numeracy. We are proud to nurture children who respect their Bahraini heritage while becoming open-minded global citizens.

None of this happens alone. We see parents as partners in every child's journey, and we work closely with families so that each student feels known, safe, and inspired to do their best.

At Al Fajer, learning extends beyond walls. We warmly invite you to visit our campus and experience it for yourself.

Vision, Mission & Values

Our Vision

A vibrant community where learning is joyful, genuine and empowering — collaborative, innovative and technology-driven, grounded in respect and responsibility. A school where learning extends beyond walls.

Our Mission

To inspire and prepare every student to achieve personal development and academic excellence as an engaged global citizen — empowering them to become positive learners who respect their own culture and the cultures of others, within a challenging, innovative programme delivered in a compassionate environment.

Loyalty & integrity

The deep blue of our crest: honesty, kindness and trust. We ask children to be true to themselves and good to one another.

Intellect, optimism & creativity

The gold of our crest: curiosity, a sunny outlook and imagination — the spark behind every discovery in our classrooms.

Loyalty and integrity sit at the heart of our community, alongside intellect, optimism and creativity. These values — reflected in our blue and gold identity — guide how our children learn, treat one another, and grow.
